Point Peron - Contrasting edits

January 09, 2014  •  2 Comments

My New Years resolution was to get out and shoot more, so with afternoon clouds looking promising on Monday, I persuaded a friend to meet me at Point Peron for sunset. Point Peron has rocks (even if they are ugly ones) and numerous coves that offer a few different options. Sunset wasn't too spectacular, but a few clouds remained.

I love having new images to edit, and playing around with different processing.

My first edit was a colourful one. I loved the red of the cloud against the blue sky, and the movement of the receding waves on the beach. I have also been meaning to get a vertical shot for a while to fill a gap on the wall, so think I might print this one :-)

It's funny how a different day can bring a totally different edit to a similar scene. I also want to experiment more with Black & White processing this year, and so in contrast to the colourful edit, this one is perhaps a little edgier!

Thanks Ailsa, I'm the same usually, and if I do go B&W it tends to be more high key. Always good to try something new!

I usually don't go for B/W images as I like the effect of colour however I prefer this B/W image with the long exposure and different shades from black to white.
